Meet Our Youth Supervisors!
Lake Shore Youth Program is proud to introduce our three youth supervisors and three youth mentors.
Mike Wiley
Hello, my name is Mike Wiley and I have been with the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company for nearly 9 years!
I have been in the fire service since 2001 where I started in the youth program at Highland Hose Volunteer Fire Company. I became an active member there in 2010 and left in 2016. I've been a youth supervisor for the last 5 years and I love every minute of it.
Fun Fact about me: I got my start in the fire service thanks to my uncle, Ron, who was a member of Lake Erie Beach Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years. He really got the first responder bug in me.
Mark Heilig
Hello, my name is Mark Heilig. My fire service career started as a junior firefighter back in 1979.
Although I've taken a couple breaks in service, I am pushing 40 years of active duty at Lake Shore. I have been part of and seen the success that the Junior Fire Company has had in bringing young people in who have an interest in helping the community. Many of our Chiefs started out as Junior firefighters.
Fun fact about me: I am blessed with three awesome kids whom all made it through college. My middle son, Ben, was a Junior firefighter and is now in the Senior Company as an interior firefighter!
Payton Spaeth
Hi! My name is Payton Spaeth, I am an AEMT and EMS Lieutenant at Lake Shore Fire! I have been with Lake Shore a little over a year and was a member at the Village of Hamburg Fire before coming here. I started my EMS career my senior year of high school when I took an EMT class and instantly fell in love with the field.
I received my EMT-B certification in 2022 and then my AEMT certification in 2024. I absolutely love EMS and emergency medical care and I love sharing my passion for the field with others even more. I am currently studying Kinesiology/ psychology at Canisius University and hope to someday become a Physician Assistant.
Fun Fact: I am a D1 rower at Canisius!
Dylan Zielinski
Hello! My name is Dylan Zielinski. I am a fire Sergeant and Board of Director at Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company.
I started my first responder journey as a Junior Firefighter here at Lake Shore at 16 years old. I then moved up to the senior company when I turned 17 and have been here ever since! I am currently 19 years old and am a Freshman at Hilbert College. I'm majoring in intelligence and national security.
Fun Fact: I've been a basketball coach for 4 years and currently coach D3 basketball at Hilbert!
Adam Guilmain
Hello!
My name is Adam Guilmain and I am an interior firefighter, EMT, duty-shift coordinator & Youth supervisor for Lake Shore.
I started at lakeshore as a Jr member at age 13 and progressed from there! I am currently 18 years old and I work as a welder and a EMT for Mercy Flight EMS.
Fun fact: I love animals
Kate Wagonblott
Hi! My name is Kate Wagonblott, and I am currently an EMT, coming up on 1 year being a member of the senior company at Lake Shore Fire.
I joined the youth program at 16, and then moved up to the senior company when I turned 17.
I am currently a senior at Nardin Academy, and hope to study chemistry in college!
